Celebrating Multiculturalism and Casa Graduates!

Today was a momentous day for Daystar Academy’s Toddler & Casa program, as they performed their wonderful Spring show about multiculturalism in the morning, and celebrated their Casa graduates in the afternoon!

So first up-the Spring Performance.

Toddler and Casa parents were in for a treat this morning as their children pulled out all the stops for their Spring performance! Audience members were treated to a wonderful display of confidence, energy, enthusiasm, visual delight-and cultures as children from each class took their parents on a wonderful journey.

First teachers performed the opening sequence. Then it was all about the children. We first travelled around China…from a classical Chinese performance, to Tianjin, to Inner Mongolia, to Yunnan, to Shan Xi and concluding with Beijing!

Then we all “took an airplane” and were transported to other countries around the world! There was some wonderful Bollywood dancing from India, eating ice cream from the Philippines, a “Tulip” dance from New Zealand, the song “Tomorrow” from the U.S. Broadway musical “Annie”, a traditional Hungarian Dance, and “You Are My Sunshine” from Canada!

For the finale-everyone was on their feet, dancing to the current kid favorite “Can’t Stop the Feeling”from the movie Trolls!

CASA Graduation Ceremony 2017

In the afternoon, we celebrated the important milestone for 26 of our Casa students-their first graduation. Today marked the first of many graduations to come…high school, college, and perhaps even beyond. But because this was their first, it was particularly sentimental for many.

The event first kicked off with a wonderful shadow pantomime, showing a story of a child from birth to his first Kindergarten graduation. Then, the graduating students performed various numbers, including showing the wonderful skills they have learned through Montessori during the past three years.

Casa Co-Principals Ms. Prachi Goswami and Ms. Spring Liu then awarded each student with their graduation certificates. Students in turn, showed their appreciation and thanked not only their teachers from each Casa, but also all the support staff who have taken such great care of them the past three years.

A lot of hard work, and heart were poured into both events today, and it showed. We want to thank everyone for their dedication to our students, and our Montessori program. Thanks to all for a wonderful performance, and congratulations to our graduates!!!
